About Me
Hello
I have been working as a therapist offering counselling to young people and adults over the last 15 years. I work both face to face and online. I care about my work with my clients, I am good at what I do and I enjoy it. Whilst I cannot promise miracles, I can promise that I will give you everything I have to help you work through the difficulties that you are experiencing. If you’ve read this far, I’m guessing you’re ready to do the same for yourself.
My Approach
Actually, it will probably look and feel like a conversation. But it’s all about you and we will talk about what is important to you.
As far as types of therapy, I mainly use a combination of Person Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT focuses on thoughts, feelings, and actions. We will work together on understanding what you think and feel and why.
In Person Centred Therapy I make sure that you feel like we’re going in the right direction. I won’t tell you what your goals need to be as you’re the expert on you. You can be yourself without being judged. Person Centred Therapy can be useful for improving self-confidence, figuring out who you are, and building relationships.
Ultimately, with the combination of these two types of therapy, we work on your goals, build on your strengths, and do what works for you.
Since 2013 I have been providing a counselling service in Primary and Secondary schools across Suffolk & Norfolk for both staff and pupils. Please contact me if you would like more information about this service for your school.
I am a qualified supervisor and offer supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors working with individuals and young people. I also provide supervision within schools to safeguarding and pastoral staff who can really benefit from this service.
Professional bio…
My education includes a BACP Accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling from CPPD London in 2009. Since then I have undertaken training in CBT, Creative Therapies and Supervision. My experience includes working for schools, colleges and running my private practice in London, before moving to Suffolk with my family in 2011.
Since moving to Suffolk I have worked in several schools across Suffolk and Norfolk and run my own private practice from home. I continue to update and add to my skills through specialist trainings, courses and conferences. My child and adult work is supported by regular monthly supervision.
I look forward to meeting you…..
